I can almost relate to the story of Elijah, where after calling down fire from heaven on Mt Carmel, fled into the wilderness because of an empty threat by some Queen. Last week was devastating, and i find it difficult to relate to the previous week's powerful revelations on issues of justice and poverty. 0.0 I just want to hide in campus and not be bothered about the outside world, that kind of feeling. Entering into week 6 now, the busiest there is according to my schedule, and i wonder what will happen next.

9. Isiah 61

The Year of the LORD's Favor

1 The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is on me,

to proclaim freedom for the captives
and release from darkness for the prisoners, [a]

The truth/reality about poverty

I find that this speaks the truth among the poor and needy, although the physical needs must be attended to at first.

This is the first part of the puzzle that i discovered. I pray God will shed more light on this.

The Bible has never been so interesting! That is said truthfully, although lots of other parts are interesting enough. But the books on prophets are just WOW.

This was the word revealed to me after i had a long good talk with the chaplain, about the spiritual landscape in scotland, which is degenerating rapidly. I shared about my burden for the poor and needy and she promised to include me in any of these city missions to reach out to them. Took a brochure home about some upcoming event and this verse was the first verse on it, although its totally unrelated. SO much is happening and much more soon and i am so damned excited!!

Feels like I can touch the sky! (or the people, haha)

revelation

1. I prayed yesterday for the answer of my needs, and i was answered open your eyes again, and see the needs of my people.

2. Today i attended a talk by Ernst and Young China in Your Future. Job opportunities in China.

3. After that went to Christian Union and they had a presentation on Global Missions. "My people" was defined correctly and it struck to me (again) that it refers to the whole world, not just the church. refer John 3:16.

4. The first and most needy country was China. I can hardly describe the emotions that welled up when they presented it. A country that lost its identity.

5. I started learning mandarin again. Something that i would NEVER DO but happened just suddenly. I hope it could be sustained.

It appears, in contrast to proper human intuition, that the people here celebrates the excitment and innocence of evil. A complete ignorance of the existance or the danger of evil. In contrast to the East, where people would in a correct sense, fear evil and flee.
Example:

Street parties during halloween/ghost festival. -.-
Dressing up as monsters and devils. -.-
And what in Gods name is trick or treat???

The Yeast of the Pharisees and Herod

14The disciples had forgotten to bring bread, except for one loaf they had with them in the boat. 15"Be careful," Jesus warned them. "Watch out for the yeast of the Pharisees and that of Herod."
16They discussed this with one another and said, "It is because we have no bread."
17Aware of their discussion, Jesus asked them: "Why are you talking about having no bread? Do you still not see or understand? Are your hearts hardened?
18Do you have eyes but fail to see, and ears but fail to hear? And don't you remember?

This understanding came to me on my second week in the chinese fellowship. Which is my second week in Heriot-Watt.

1. We need to be convicted and truly acknowledge that Jesus is the Messiah. Really convicted or else we will be like the Pharisees, asking for sings or miracles when its evident its happening and who have eyes but do not see, ears but fail to hear.

2. Jesus fed the 5000 and 4000 earlier to demonstrate that he is Christ. The miracles are to convict and show people that He is the One. This means that miracles are performed for the purpose of making Christ known and Christ only. Therefre miracles and evangelism go hand-in-hand.

3. In v27 - 31, only when we truly know Christ will he reveal His plans to us.

Peter's Confession of Christ

27Jesus and his disciples went on to the villages around Caesarea Philippi. On the way he asked them, "Who do people say I am?"
28They replied, "Some say John the Baptist; others say Elijah; and still others, one of the prophets."
29"But what about you?" he asked. "Who do you say I am?"
Peter answered, "You are the Christ."
30Jesus warned them not to tell anyone about him.

Jesus Predicts His Death
31He then began to teach them that the Son of Man must suffer many things and be rejected by the elders, chief priests and teachers of the law, and that he must be killed and after three days rise again.

This is the first time in the book of Mark he tells His disciples that his purpose on earth is to redeem mankind, and only telling them after Peter understood that Jesus is the Messiah, Christ. The word Son of Man also occured for the first time.

4. In the miracle- jesus feeding the 5000, although the people did not believe that he is Christ, he had compassion on them and fed them. This shows that miracles can still fall on the unbelievers.

5. In feeding the 5000, Jesus told the disciple to give the people something to eat, and in the 4000 he broke bread and gave them to His disciples to give to the people. When we offer whatever we have to God, he will take whatever we have and return them abudantly and overflowingly to many people.

6. 2 reasons why Jesus performed these 2 miracles
- make himseld known as the Messiah
- had compassion on the people (believer & unbeliever)

(Psalm 78:40-44)

In this passage the people of God again and again limited the Holy One of God. They limited what God can do in and through their lives and for them. It is amazing that they could do it because nobody can limit the unlimited God. They had seen the miracles in Egypt, parting of the Red Sea, water come out of the rock, manna come down from heaven, etc. If that was not enough, they had a pillar of cloud in the day and fire by night. Yet having seen all the miracles of God almost on a daily basis, when they came to a problem or difficulty they begin to struggle in the wilderness and they limit the Holy One of God. They think God is not going to get them through the wilderness and into the Promised Land.

The Bible says they provoked and grieved God and limited the Holy One of Israel. The tragic result was they missed the promises of God. God had promised them the land flowing with milk and honey. When God does not meet our prayers we feel grieved with God but there is another side of the coin. When we do not trust God in our crisis then God is grieved. We always put the blame on God but when the children of Israel provoked God, the Bible says God was grieved.

God has a message for this church :-

a) Well done! Metrotabernacle. This is an indication from heaven. Do not take it lightly because God does not say that to every church.

b) God gave me a verse in Joshua 2:24 for this church. Here Moses is dead, and God said to Joshua, I want you to lead the people into the land I have given you because the people are faint-hearted because of you. I read it as “..and the people said to Ps OSL, Ps Nancy and Metro, truly the Lord has delivered all KL, Malaysia and beyond into our hands for indeed all the inhabitants, powers and demons of KL, Malaysia and beyond are faint-hearted because of Metro. Malaysia and beyond are faint-hearted because of what God is doing in Metro.” This verse has been with me ever since. That is why I want to declare to you as a church this morning.

The enemy is now in fear and in dread of what God has called Metro to do. He knows the great damage that you are going to do to the kingdom of darkness. He knows the great number of people who will be plundered within his hands and into God’s hands. The God of peace will crush the devil under your feet. Get ready for a new visitation of God. The enemy is already trembling because of what God is going to do here and through this church here in Metro.

The key issue is this. You must not be like the children of Israel. You have seen miracles after miracles in your life. To get this far, you have seen many miracles just like the children of Israel. The challenge now is do not be like the children of Israel, to limit the Holy One of God. When they come upon problems, they lost faith and confidence in a God who brought them this far.

I Cor 4:20 – For the kingdom of God is not in word but power. The word of God is a matter of power not just words. That is the hallmark of the kingdom of God. God wants every born again believer to have power in his life. One of the real challenges of living in the West, it is said that in the world right now, there are approximately 175 supernatural sovereign divine outpouring of God’s miraculous supernatural and revival power. What concerns me is the statistics are correct but of the 175, not one is in the western world. Whatever you do, do not become like them. Do not be sophisticated and professional.

We know how to draw in people and make it look good but we do not know how to demonstrate the power of the resurrected Son of God. More than anything else we need to see the power of the unlimited God released in our circumstances. The world we live in is hungry for the supernatural. They are blinded by books today on the occult, etc. The world, especially in the West, says we want the supernatural power of God. But the human heart is weary for the supernatural. The supernatural is our natural realm that is why within us we are always crying for the supernatural.

1. Be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might (Eph 6:10).

The word be strong is dunamis meaning supernatural strength and ability. It talks of explosive power, having been deposited in a container. This passage of scripture is saying, God has created you, our spirit has been made and formed, it is in us to be uniquely contained of the dynamite power of God. We are created for that. Then you will see why God has created you to be a container. When we begin to believe that and walk in that, the world is going to take note of the church of Jesus. It will transform societies and countries. Why do we limit our God when our God is an awesome God? We serve an unlimited God, a God who can do anything.

2. All you need is a mustard seed (Matt 17:20)

A mustard seed is tiny. Jesus is saying, you do not need a lot of faith to see the unlimited God in action. Just use a little faith. You have enough faith to see. Use the small mustard seed of faith that you already have and as you use it, it will grow and then you will be able to talk about the unlimited God. One of the biggest threats of Satan’s attack is, you do not have enough faith.

3. Step out in God (Matt 14:28-29)

We live in an extreme generation. The young loves the extreme. It is a message for the church that we live in a world that wants to live on the edge. God is saying it is time for extreme faith in Jesus. God wants to raise people who will take risks and do extreme things for God. Nothing in this world can compare to going on the edge and living your life for Christ. Live in extreme faith and see God in action in your life. Live in extreme faith for Jesus.

In the book of Daniel, Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-Nego said, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the fiery furnace but we will not serve your god. The Bible says the king saw a 4th person like the Son of God. When you step into extreme faith, the 4th man is going to come to your side. People are going to observe you and marvel and say, there seem like a 4th man who is working through you. When you begin to step out, you begin to see things. It is time to take the mustard see and step out of the boat and come face to face with the unlimited God who will begin to do signs and miracles and see situations turn around. It is time for the unlimited God to be manifested in KL.

4. Do not limit the power of God’s word (Joshua 1:8)

The Bible is full of life and power of the living God. This book is the sword of the Spirit. It is a life-giving book and can do miracles in your life. When Joshua was told to lead the people into the Promised Land, God gave Joshua a strategy. God said He will give Joshua a strategy that will not fail. The creator of the universe is the one who knows the ultimate key to the favor and blessings of God. God said, if you read the book you will see the unlimited God in action and see success and Joshua saw the sun stand still. Zech 4:7 – speaking grace to the mountain.

5. To pray and never stop praying (Rom 8:37)

When you pray and pray, then the unlimited God will begin to work for you. Here the children of Israel see themselves as grasshoppers. More than conquerors, we have to see what God says we are. If you find out what God say about you, you will know the truth and it will set you free.

Rom 8:37 – No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. In the Greek, “more than” means we are beyond superior, top-notch, outstanding, first class, greater, unequalled, unrivalled, etc. Conqueror means over-comer, champion, overwhelming force, etc. When you combine the 2 words, you are an overwhelming first class conqueror, you are a topnotch over-comer, and you are an unrivalled champion, more than anything that the devil can come against you. You are a winner and not a loser. You are a super conqueror and unbeatable champion though my Lord Jesus Christ.

It is time to take the lid off your face and see the unlimited God work on your behalf. The enemy is in fear and dread of you. It is time to take possession of KL and beyond. Do not let the walls of your new building limit your faith. Zech 2:4 – Metro shall be inhabited as a town without walls because of the multitudes in it. No building in KL is big enough to contain the power of the unlimited God.
